Grilled Sausage Meat Burgers
with Oven Fries
Fries with that? The answer is yes! Oven-crisped sticks accompany these streamlined burgers, made with Italian pork sausage meat patties (conveniently pre-seasoned). They're sizzled on the barbecue, and served with tangy mayo and crisp shards of lettuce.

- 500g Canadian-raised mild Italian pork sausage meat
- 900g Potatoes
- 1 Head of lettuce
- 15ml Apple cider vinegar
- 60ml Mayonnaise
- 4 Artisan hamburger buns

Preparation

Roast the fries
- Preheat the oven to 450°F. Heat the BBQ on high, making sure to oil the grill first.
- Cut the potatoes into fries.
- On a lined sheet pan, toss with a drizzle of oil and S&P.
- Roast, flipping halfway, 25 to 30 min., until lightly browned and tender.

Prepare & grill the patties
- Meanwhile, form the sausage meat into 4 patties*.
- Add to the BBQ and grill, 3 to 5 min. per side, until cooked through.
- Transfer to a plate.

Mise en place
- Meanwhile, thinly slice the lettuce crosswise.
- In a second large bowl, combine the lettuce, ½ the vinegar, 3 tbsp oil and S&P.
- In a small bowl, combine the mayo, remaining vinegar and S&P.

Grill the buns
- Add the buns, cut-sides down, to the BBQ and grill, 1 to 2 min., until warmed through and toasted.

Plate your dish
- Divide the fries and bun bottoms between your plates.
- Top each bun bottom with the spiced mayo, a patty, the lettuce and a bun top. Bon appétit!
